In spite of some nerves about the two-shows-in-one-night deal, the Now show couldn't have gone better. There's nothing like being around a bunch of people who are at least folks you see at local shows a lot, let alone good friends, to make a show feel like a party.

We got there in plenty of time, managing to catch the the tail end of the shockingly good Radel Esca and all of the blissful noise construction of the Plums. We got some good shopping done, picking up Count Basie, the Lucksmiths, Neil Young and the Wedding Present CDs at 50% off, and the set was fun and energetic, which says a lot about our spirits, considering we had just played a show right before and energy levels were actually a little low. The only down side to the evening was that the bright lights lended a certain distraction, leaving no question about who was nodding off and who was pointing and laughing. Don't point and laugh, please.
