Let's just get this out in the open: worst show since Blue Nile. Not only did Walker Kong have to cancel, but Common Grounds is just not a place for a band that plays loud (that's us). After our sound check song, we were asked to turn down, in a way that involved being told that the owner, in the floor below, had the reaction of "Woah! No, no, no!" when we started in.

It was a little better when we got started in and by OK Alright, had abandoned most attempts at playing quietly. But about 3/4 of the way through our set, three girls opened the door to the room we were playing in and looked in uncertainly for a few seconds (one of them had her fingers in her ears the whole time) and then headed back downstairs. Probably for the best, though. I mean, if they can't handle it...

If it sounds like we're bad-mouthing Common Grounds, it's not for lack of trying. We were glad to play the show and all, but...that's no place for anyone.
